Taking Part: The National Survey of Culture, Leisure and Sport Final PSA3 baselines from the 2005/2006 survey, Statistical Release, 14 December 2006
Taking Part is a continuous national survey of those living in a representative cross-section of private households in England. One of the central aims of the survey is to provide a robust measure of the Department’s Public Service Agreement target 3 (PSA3). The aim of this target is, by 2008, to increase the take-up of cultural and sporting opportunities by adults and young people aged 16 and above from each of the priority groups. The priority groups are defined as those from black and minority ethnic groups, those with a limiting disability, those people in lower socio-economic groups and in the case of sport, women are also defined as a priority group.

Taking Part: The National Survey of Culture, Leisure and Sport. Headline findings from the child survey, 25 October 2007
This report is the first publication about engagement in culture, leisure and sport based on the Taking Part child survey. The aim of the report is to set out the key headline findings in order to baseline levels of engagement amongst 11 to 15 year olds. This information and future analysis will help the Department and its partner bodies to better understand those who do, and do not, engage with its sectors.

Taking Part: The National Survey of Culture, Leisure and Sport - Annual Report 2005/2006

This report is the first annual publication on the extent and nature of engagement and non-engagement in culture, leisure and sport based on the first annual sweep of the Taking Part Survey. The aim of the report is to set out the key high-level findings in order to baseline the levels of engagement amongst different groups of the population. To understand this further, the report also presents the main levers and barriers to engagement as well as exploring other relationships such as the impact of engaging as a child and other forms of involvement such as online access to culture and sport. This information along with the longer term set of outputs from the survey will help the Department and its partner bodies to better understand those who do, and do not, engage with its sectors.
