For the past few years The FA, together with the County FAs and Local Football Partnerships, have been developing a robust system to accurately measure levels of affiliated participation across the Country. This system, known as CAS (County Administration System) produced the first set of data for the Season 05/06.
This paper discusses the methodology of the analysis, discusses its limitations and draws some headline conclusions. The next challenge is to understand the drivers and blockers of the wide variances of levels of participation at the local level, and to draw up an action plan to sustain and increase the level of participation in the London region.
